Take out the Trash

Picking up garbage for 3 hours isn’t my idea of a fun wayto spend my Saturday  morning but if you get a team of like minded people to come along it can be a blast. That’s what I discovered last Saturday when a bunch of us from CoreNet Global got together with our families, friends and co-workers to clean up about a quarter of a mile of San Francisco Creek in Palo Alto as a part of National River Cleanup Day sponsored by Creek Connections Action Group and Acterra. As a group of seventeen, we managed to collect 553 pounds of garbage and 26 pounds of recyclables. We found everything from fire extinguishers to a bike, and we even recovered a 10 gallon container of used automobile oil! I’m glad we found it so it wouldn’t end up in San Francisco Bay.
