Fresh is the way to go

I grew up in a very healthy home where preservatives, canned food, soda or sugarcereal were not allowed. If we had any “junk food” it was natural chips from Trader Joes, O’s cereal from Whole Foods or homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. Yes, some may say how lucky I was but as a kid, let me tell you, it was tuff. I used all the tricks in the book to trade my natural fruit roll-up for a bag of Doritos chips and sometimes, just sometimes I was successful.

Now as an adult I value and thank my Mom for the healthy and loving meals she provided.  Eating fresh, organic and natural is truly the only way to go. So for my Monday Lunch, I decided to make a healthy veggie meal with a flair of San Francisco fun:

Main Course:

Organic Whole Wheat Pasta, with sautéed veggies and tofu in a wheat-free tamari and toasted sesame oil sauce. Served Cold with fresh thai basil.

Chopped cabbage salad with carrots and red bell peppers. Served with fresh mint, roasted sesame seeds and homemade Thai Peanut Dressing.

Dessert:

Strawberry Sorbet

Bon Appétit!
